Memorial Garden

Feb 19, 2020

Jesus was smart to use things like seeds and weeds to describe the kingdom of God. The mystery and magnificence of God’s love is hard to bend our brains around all the time, but watching the natural world do it’s thing—and better yet—getting our own hands into the dirt to play around with it, is a tangible way to connect to our faith. Literally in the center of our church, the core around which the whole physical plant is shaped, is a garden. It is a place to come and remember that though the grass withers and the flowers fade, the Word of God will stand forever; that in life and in death, we belong to God. The UPC Memorial Garden is a sacred space to practice our faith. If you have interest in helping to tend it every now and then, or be part of the team that ensures its sustenance and health, Pastor Meg would be delighted to talk with you about that.
