Women’s Retreat: Register Now
All women of the church are invited to the 2017 Women’s Retreat. Registration is now open and runs through Friday, March 24. Click here to register.
When: April 21-23
Where: Catholic Conference Center (Hickory, NC)
Theme: The Fine Art of Forgiveness
During worship each Sunday, the pastors lead us in the Declaration of Pardon, saying “Know that you are forgiven and be at peace.” Why is it so important to confess and then be assured of God’s forgiveness each week? How can we allow ourselves to truly feel that peace of being forgiven? How and why are we called to forgive others and even ourselves? We will explore the strong biblical theme of forgiveness through study, prayer, discussion, music, and lively fellowship throughout our retreat weekend.
Retreat Leader: The Rev. Carrie Rhoads Tuttle graduated from N.C. State University with a B.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Communication. She then worked in the corporate world (Red Hat Software and The Atlantic/Fast Company magazines) before entering Columbia Theological Seminary and graduating with her MDiv in 2001. She served Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA, and then was ordained as Associate Pastor of Youth, College and Families at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington, NC, in 2003. She served FPC-Burlington for five years. Currently, Carrie is leading UPC’s Woman to Woman group each Thursday. Her husband, Chris, is the pastor at Westminster Presbyterian in Durham, and she is managing their crazy household—Ella Brooks (11), Heath (9), Wilson (4), and Autumn (huge golden retriever).
We’ll spend the weekend at the Catholic Retreat Center near Hickory. To learn more about the center and view more pictures of the grounds and facilities, visit www.catholicconference.org.
