One of our Vacation Bible School service projects is to collect as many children’s books as we can for Book Harvest. Last year, we donated more than 500 books. Book Harvest provides books to children in central North Carolina and works with families and communities to promote children’s lifelong literacy and academic success. Having plenty of books at home helps children start kindergarten ready to learn, combat summer learning loss once they are in school, and think of themselves as readers. Please sort through your used books or buy a couple of new ones, and place books in the boxes in the church parlor or near the Henderson Street door.
