Presbyterian Women Update

May 21, 2019

On May 14, members of the Presbyterian Women (PW) gathered for their annual Birthday Dinner celebration. This event was started in 1922 by the PW in PC (USA) to raise grant money to be used in areas of health, education, economic development and the needs of women and children around the world.  We enjoyed a delicious catered meal, followed by a wonderful presentation by the Reverend Carrie Tuttle on Sabbath. We were all inspired by the presentation to look more closely at our lives and schedules and make room for Sabbath in whatever ways we can. And more than a few ladies left that evening with birthday gifts!

Presbyterian Women is an inclusive and caring community of women, committed to working toward God’s promise of wholeness for all people. We continue to look for ways to engage women in meaningful relationships no matter what stage of life you are in. Here at UPC, we have five circles that meet monthly during the school year–some during the day, and some in the evening. We invite you to check one out this fall. In addition, we host some group events during the year that are open to all women of the church, whether or not you participate in a circle. We may be trying out a few new events next year–so stay tuned!
