Special Worship Service: The Longest Night
Joy and merriment are prevalent in the Christmas season, and it can be hard to find space to sit with loss, grief, loneliness, and other strong feelings that weigh heavily during the holidays. Consider joining us for a special service of worship, “The Longest Night,” on Sunday, December 17, at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
This service will be a quiet, meditative observance of Advent, meant to offer space for all the parts of our life we bring to the manger. If this holiday season finds you mourning the loss of a loved one, coping with periods of darkness, seeking quiet contemplative space, or longing to be of support for those in need of healing, there is a place for you here. We will gather for quiet prayer, reading of scripture, music, lighting of candles, and intentional silence.
For more information, please contact Elizabeth Michael, UPC’s Interim Associate Pastor, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on this special service.
