Help the UPC Youth pack 300 bags for TABLE on Nov 21!
We need your help gathering supplies for 300 food bags for TABLE to distribute the week of Thanksgiving. TABLE provides hunger relief to children in our area. Their weekend backpack program keeps young people fed when they are not in school.
This year, Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools made the entire week of Thanksgiving a holiday. While we’re grateful for the mental health break, we know that many young people will not have enough food in the pantry to get them through the week without school meals. TABLE has set a goal to pack nearly 750 bags for these students. We think we can put a big dent in that need!
With your help, our youth can pack 300 bags in about 30 minutes – we only need the supplies.
Because the bags need to be uniform, we have a specific item list we must follow. Please use the link below to sign up for the items you wish to donate. Donations may be left in the youth center before Nov 21. OR, we’d love for you to bring your donations as an offering in worship on Sunday, Nov 21 at 11am. Our offerings will be brought forward and placed on the chancel as a symbol of gratitude to God for all that we have been given. Thanks for joining in this meaningful work with our youth.
