Taizé Worship

All are invited to our contemplative worship services.

Taizé worship is offered once a month during the program year – in the Sanctuary during the colder months/on rainy days, and the Memorial Garden when it is warmer.

What is Taizé?

Lasting about 30 mins, a Taizé service includes chant-like simple songs sung repeatedly, surrounded by brief periods of silence, Scripture, and prayer. We invite you to come as you are and invite anyone else who may desire a simple evening of singing, praying, and sacred reflection.

Upcoming Dates:

Tues., Nov. 8 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary

Chantres de Taizé

The “Cantors of Taizé” offer musical leadership for the monthly contemplative worship services typically held on Tuesday evenings. The ensemble welcomes both singers and instrumentalists. The Taizé service at University Church consists of scripture readings, silence and simple chants that allow space for creativity and spontaneous improvisation. Musicians meet an before the service to rehearse. If you are interested in participating with this ensemble, contact Joey.
