On May 14, members of the Presbyterian Women (PW) gathered for their annual Birthday Dinner celebration. This event was started in 1922 by the PW in PC (USA) to raise grant money to be used in areas of health, education, economic development and the needs of women and children around the world. One of our Vacation Bible School service projects is to collect as many children’s books as we can for Book Harvest. Last year, we donated more than 500 books. Book Harvest provides books to children in central North Carolina and works with families and communities to promote children’s lifelong literacy and academic success. Between June 2 and August 18 we will gather each Sunday morning at 10:00 for a single worship service. Come and help us fill the sanctuary with the voices and prayers of God’s people, and then stay for punch on the porch. What a great opportunity to renew connections with friends who worship at the “other” service!
